Our Purpose
At Steiner Cares, our purpose is rooted in the belief that lasting change begins within our communities. We provide comprehensive, community-centered services that meet people where they are—offering trauma-informed support and practical tools for healing, growth, and long-term success. From helping a young adult enter the workforce to guiding survivors through recovery or supporting small business dreams, our programs are designed to uplift. We recognize that systemic barriers and trauma require more than surface-level solutions, which is why we offer compassionate, tailored services that empower individuals and strengthen neighborhoods.
A History of Service & Community Building…
Steiner Cares is built on a strong legacy of service, trust, and community impact as the nonprofit arm of Steiner Security Services, Inc.—one of Chicago’s leading women-owned (WBE) security firms. Since 2003, Steiner Security has safeguarded some of the nation’s most high-profile venues and institutions, from major sporting events like the All-Star Game and PGA tournaments to universities, churches, airports, and government facilities.
With over 30 years of security management expertise, the company is known for its precision, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. Steiner Cares proudly carries these same values into our community-focused mission—creating jobs, delivering workforce training, supporting victims, and building safer, more empowered neighborhoods across Chicago.

At Steiner Cares, we believe that economic opportunity is a powerful catalyst for change. Our Career & Economic Empowerment programs are designed to equip individuals with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to thrive in today’s workforce. From hands-on job training in high-demand fields like IT and cybersecurity to small business support, job readiness coaching, and financial literacy workshops, we help participants chart sustainable career paths and achieve financial independence. Victim Services & Wraparound Support
We provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals and families affected by violence and crisis. Our Victim Services & Wraparound Support include domestic violence support, trauma counseling, safety planning, and access to essential resources. We walk alongside survivors on their journey to healing—ensuring they are seen, heard, and supported every step of the way. Through culturally responsive care and a strong network of community partnerships, Steiner Cares helps individuals not just survive, but rebuild with dignity and strength.
Violence Intervention
& Prevention
Our Violence Intervention & Prevention initiatives are rooted in community, relationships, and trust. We focus on interrupting cycles of violence before they escalate—through outreach, mentorship, mediation, and direct intervention. By engaging youth and high-risk individuals, we foster safer neighborhoods and open doors to healthier choices and positive futures. Our team includes credible messengers and community advocates who understand the complexities of trauma and systemic injustice, and who are deeply committed to restoring peace where it’s needed most.
Target Demographics
At Steiner Cares, we serve individuals and families across Chicago who are navigating the challenges of violence, trauma, and systemic barriers. This includes survivors of domestic and community violence seeking safety and healing, job seekers and career changers in search of skill-building and economic opportunity, and youth and adults striving for stability and future growth.
